Alex Fazekas-Boone. The photographer who hunts the why.
“If I knew why I take photos, I probably wouldn’t be so intent on shooting more!”
Alex is as he says “A son, a brother of 3 brothers and 1 sister, an uncle and a caring partner, for 7 years now, of his wife, Laura.”
If we go deeper we see an artist with photography as a main focus, a lifelong skateboarder and also a proud Pacific Northwest native. Just for starters!
He lives in Tacoma, where he love get some really amazing coffee from the roasters close to their place, take bike rides around the city and pop over to the skate park.
Alex, is a genuine addict to travels ” Travelling is like a drug. There’s a reason it’s called a trip you know! – The thing I really like about travelling is that takes me out of my comfort zone and puts me in new and strange experiences. I meet people I never would meet, and see places I couldn’t see at home. It’s all I think about.”
Each photographer has his own creative process, Alex tells us how he gets inspired “It all depends on what I’m shooting. If I’m backpacking or hiking, I just shoot candidly and let the environment I’m in guide me and show me.”
Alex tell us what it would be for him a perfect day “Every good day starts with coffee first. Then I would throw on the Sisto Clasico ride my bike over to get breakfast on 6th Ave with Laura. After I fill up, I’d grab my camera and ride over to the park to hike around and shoot some photos. When I’m finished shooting, I’d pop over to the skate park and ride around for a bit. Once I lose daylight I’d go process the photos at the house and I’d wrap it all up back over on 6th Ave again with dinner at my favourite restaurant Gateway to India.”
“A Life Walker is someone who follows their passion wherever it takes them.”
He likes to bike and walk around Tacoma with his Maians. “What I love about them is that they are handmade in Spain! It’s really awesome to have an ethically sourced and manufactured shoe.”
