Maians displays its Spanish, Mediterranean heritage through tradition and design. You are invited to enjoy the comfort, simplicity and practicality of the new spring summer 2013 collection.
The heart and soul of Maians is found in the Barcelona barrio of “La Barceloneta”. Here is where inspiration overflows, a veritable melting pot of contrasts which motivate and excite us in our search for ideas.
Textures, colours, smells and sounds are reflected in the flaking facades worn down by the salty sea winds. Old men and women sitting in their doorways remind us of the working class heritage of this evolving seaside neighbourhood. This evolution is seen all around, where terraces, bicycles and surf schools live in harmony with 5 star hotels and tourists, all adding to the unique spontaneity and personality that makes up the Barceloneta.
In these difficult times that we live in, Maians remains true to its roots by once again prioritising tradition, workmanship, quality finishings, comfort and originality. These are the results of working with generations of our artisan “zapatilleros” using the original moulds from 1970 and the vulcanisation process which makes our shoes so unique. It goes without saying that our designer Alfonso de la Fuente is behind the emphasis on current and multifunctional design which you see in year after year of Maians collection.
We proudly present our line-up for this spring summer 2013 – Sisto, Domingo, Julián, Narciso, Amador, Pepa, Inés, Felipa. All names of our artisan shoemakers whom we honour once again thanks to their part in the making of these wonderful creations.
The mens collection offers a wide range of combinations from this season’s key colours, such as beige on black or white, or a range of greys or navy blues in the more classic models.
Try combining saffron and pecan with the Sisto Combi 2 or give your look a touch of originality with the flecked soled Domingo and Sisto Combi. Of course, the essential Sisto Rejilla is a must in great new khaki, burgundy, navy blue or marengo grey. Narciso and Amador bring a nautical touch to the collection in 8 colour and texture combinations. If that wasn’t enough to take your fancy, Feliciano, Indio and Hilario compete with mesh, plaited details and designs to ensure that you will stand out wherever you go.
